Peer Health Educators (PHEs)

Peer Health Education has been a student organization on the campus for twenty years. PHEs have the unique opportunity of gaining one-on-one counseling experience, earning course credit during the training and counseling periods, and assisting in the planning and implementation of many campus events.

PHEs also do paid presentations on a variety of health-related topics for student groups, such as University 101 classes, residence halls, and student organization meetings.  Possible presentations include: Stress or Success; Healthy Body 2000; A Mini Health Fair; and Understanding Eating Disorders.

If you would like to be part of this elite group, call 576-9393 to get your name on our mailing list for an application, or download an application and return completed to Health and Wellness Programs (lower level of Strom Thurmond Fitness and Wellness Center).  Recruitment is in September and training, HPRE 301, a three credit course, is taught in the spring in the school of public health.
